MC: You said you'd always be my friend. You said you'll never become a stranger. You said you wanted to be a part of my life, no matter what. Nowadays you only talk to me once in a blue moon, and that is only to tell me about yourself, and to stroke your own ego. You're not the only guy who has done this... All guys are the same after all...

I know how you feel. I hate always being the one to start the conversation, but that's the only way we'll talk.
If it's the only way you'd ever talk that means he doesn't want to talk to you, and really you shouldn't want to talk with him either. Count your losses and move on (easier said then done I know).

O.P. & #1: If you notice that this always happens with guys, maybe you are the common thread... rather than the guys? Like #2 said, I know it's hard, but you've allowed this to be an acceptable way to treat you. If you don't like it, then don't put it up with it. You DO deserve better and will find someone who will WANT to treat you better... and watch 'He's Just Not That Into You' - dorky, but also full of wisdom.
#3. Quit hating women. The same goes for dudes. If you don't like it, DON'T PUT UP WITH IT! Find a woman who wants what you do. GOSH. (I'm a woman, for the record. And I hate self-pity. So there.)
Dating really isn't that complicated. Just be proud of who you are and stick to what you want!
